Vertical Flow Media
SDS Vertical Flow Media Modules are designed to remove carbonaceous and nitrogenous BOD while providing anti-fouling characteristics for biodegradation of municipal and industrial wastewaters in trickling filters, anaerobic reactors, and similar biosystems.
The modules are fabricated from rigid, non-flammable PVC sheets, which are UV-protected and resistant to rot, fungi, bacteria, acids, and alkalis commonly found in municipal wastewater.
Superior Solids Flushing
The open geometry and vertical orientation of the AccuPac Vertical Flow Media is designed to shear away excess biosolids, thereby reducing the potential for plugging. Without sharp angles or pockets where excess biomass might accumulate, a thinner biofilm is retained, minimizing loss of effective surface area.
Vertical Flow Advantage
The mid-module splash slope distributes the wastewater onto the thin biofilm, ensuring superior process performance. This unique flow pattern increases redistribution, oxygen transfer, and substrate removal rates.
SDS VF-3800 Media
Ideally suited for nitrification filters where the potential for plugging of the media is a concern.Surface Area: 131 m2/m3
SDS VF-5000 Media
Ideally suited for aerobic carbonaceous filters and anaerobic reactors for high-strength wastewater treatment.Surface Area: 98 m2/m3
